Badreddine Bouanani seeks to revive his VfB Stuttgart role

Algerian winger Badreddine Bouanani, 21, finished last season with limited playing time at VfB Stuttgart, recording 28 appearances (11 starts), two goals and two assists. He expressed frustration over scarce minutes, which he said affected his motivation, but the club emphasized his need for experience in the Bundesliga.

During the summer pre‑season, Bouanani featured in friendlies against TSG Balingen (7‑0 win) and FSV Hollenbach (5‑0 win). In the latter match an errant ball struck a young supporter, Emil, in the face; Bouanani comforted the fan and later gave him his shirt. With the upcoming retirement of Riyad Mahrez freeing a right‑wing spot, the player hopes to earn a regular place, having worked with a personal trainer over the break to improve his fitness.
