Badrinath Temple Donation Theft Probe Initiated

A social organization in Uttarakhand alleged that cash and other offerings donated at the historic Badrinath Temple were stolen or misappropriated. In response, the Shri Badrinath‑Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) ordered an independent inquiry, forming a panel to examine CCTV footage from the donation counting room, review available evidence and interview staff.

BKTC officials, including Chairman Hemant Dwivedi and CEO Sohan Singh Rangad, said the probe is meant to ensure transparency and restore public confidence after similar donation‑theft allegations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. No concrete evidence has been presented so far, and the committee has urged the public not to draw conclusions until the investigation is complete.
