Badung and Kuantan Singingi receive tourism awards at ITMW 2026

At the Indonesia Tourism Marketing Week (ITMW) 2026 in Bali, several Indonesian regions received recognition at the Best Regency Destination Awards.

Badung Regency received two national awards for ‘Excellence in Accessibility’ and ‘Excellence in Attraction’. During the forum, Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa presented a ‘Tourism 5.0’ strategy. This approach focuses on shifting from high visitor quantity to sustainable, high-quality tourism value. The strategy aims to ensure economic benefits are distributed more evenly across the regency, specifically targeting the central and northern regions to reduce concentration in the southern coastal areas.

Kuantan Singingi Regency, represented by the Pacu Jalur Festival, earned the award for ‘Excellence in Attraction’. The festival, a traditional boat racing heritage of the Malay community in Riau, was recognized for its cultural uniqueness and potential to drive both domestic and international tourism. Local officials noted that the award serves as motivation to promote the tradition globally while boosting local economic sectors.
