Bae Hyun-jin claims President Lee used more water at residence than Yoon

People Power Party lawmaker Bae Hyun-jin has raised questions regarding the water consumption at the presidential residence in Hannam-dong. According to water utility bills obtained by Bae, President Lee Jae-myung used 8,612 tons of water, totaling 28.61 million won, during his first year in the residence starting June 2025.

This figure represents a 16.3% increase in water volume and a 21.3% increase in costs compared to the first year of former President Yoon Suk Yeol’s residency, during which 7,406 tons were used.

Bae criticized the Democratic Party for previously raising suspicions about former President Yoon’s water usage, including claims involving a dog pool or shamanistic rituals. She demanded an explanation from President Lee regarding the increased usage and the duration of his stay at the Hannam-dong residence.
