BAE Systems Australia secures 32 million AUD naval gun contract

BAE Systems Australia has secured a five-year, 32 million Australian dollar contract to maintain and repair Mk 45 naval gun systems for the Royal Australian Navy. The agreement aims to ensure the combat readiness of 127 mm artillery systems installed on Hobart-class destroyers and Anzac-class frigates.

The scope of work includes technical services, spare parts supply, and specialized support at the Henderson facility in Western Australia. This contract also supports the modernization of Hobart-class vessels and preserves the technical expertise required for the future integration of Mk 45 guns on planned Hunter-class frigates.

For BAE Systems, this contract follows a period of solid financial performance, with recent reports showing increased revenue and operating profits driven by high demand across land, air, and maritime defense portfolios.
