Broadcaster Baek Ji-yeon addressed online discourse regarding the perceived link between childbirth and aging. During a recent video on her YouTube channel, she responded to social media comments suggesting that celebrities like Kim Hye-soo and Uhm Jung-hwa maintain their youthful appearance specifically because they have not had children.

Baek noted that while women often face increased burdens regarding housework and childcare in marriages, the issue is not a simple matter of whether one gives birth or not. She cited various studies, including one involving 620,000 Asians, which indicated that individuals who have never married or had children may face higher mortality risks compared to those who are married.

She emphasized that the quality of relationships and mutual support between partners are more critical to health and well-being than the status of marriage or parenthood itself. Baek concluded that rather than prescribing a specific lifestyle, individuals should focus on being the masters of their own lives and finding supportive relationships.
