Baekhyun faces major financial losses amid agency collapse
Singer Baekhyun of the group EXO is facing significant financial losses following legal disputes and the collapse of his new agency, One Hundred. The singer, along with fellow members Xiumin and Chen, initiated legal proceedings to terminate exclusive contracts with SM Entertainment in mid-2023 through the LIN law firm.
Reports indicate that the trio allegedly engaged in side dealings with One Hundred, leading to delays in royalty payments to SM Entertainment. Consequently, SM Entertainment decided to proceed with EXO as a five-member group, leading to public backlash against the three members.
Recent revelations from entertainment commentator Lee Jin Ho suggest that Baekhyun has suffered the most severe damages due to the insolvency and legal troubles surrounding One Hundred. The agency's leadership, including Chairman Cha Ga Won and rapper MC Mong, have reportedly faced internal conflicts and legal issues. Baekhyun was reportedly promised a contract worth 35 billion won, but the collapse of the company has left him in a precarious financial position.
