Baekje Cultural Festival to be held in Gongju this October

The 72nd Baekje Cultural Festival is scheduled to take place from October 3 to October 11 in Gongju, South Korea. Held across locations including Geumgang Singwan Park, Mireu Island, and Gongsanseong Fortress, the festival follows the theme ‘Bronze Mirror, Shining the Light of 1,500 Years of Baekje’.

The event aims to highlight the historical significance of the Ungjin Baekje period through various programs, such as the ‘Ungjin Fantasia’ non-verbal performance and the ‘Ungjin Baekje Lantern Festival’. The opening ceremony on October 3 will feature a drone show with 1,000 drones and performances by various artists.

In addition to historical reenactments and media art, the festival includes community-focused activities like a stamp tour, traditional games, and food truck zones. The city plans to provide shuttle buses and discount coupons to enhance visitor convenience and support local businesses.
