Bafang announces high-performance e-MTB motors

Bafang has announced new high-performance electric mountain bike (e-MTB) motors, the M510RS and M560RS, designed to provide significant power for technical terrain and steep climbs. Both models are scheduled for official presentation at the Italian Bike Festival from September 4–6.

The M560RS model is the high-performance flagship, weighing 3.3 kg. It provides a standard torque of 120 Nm, which can increase to 150 Nm via a ‘Boost-to-Limit’ mode. Depending on the voltage, the M560RS can reach peak power outputs of 1,400 W on a 36V system and 1,700 W on a 48V system. Its ‘Boost-to-Limit’ mode can provide pedal assistance up to 800% of the rider's input.

The M510RS is a lighter option weighing 2.9 kg. It produces 110 Nm of standard torque, rising to 120 or 130 Nm in boost mode. Its peak power reaches 1,100 W on 36V systems and 1,300 W on 48V systems.

Both motors feature advanced sensor integration, including a six-axis IMU, torque, cadence, and wheel speed sensors, to optimize assistance based on terrain and rider input. The M560RS will also offer speed-limited versions at 25 km/h and 45 km/h.
