BAFTA Cymru announces 2026 award nominations

BAFTA Cymru has announced the nominations for the 2026 awards, which celebrate excellence in broadcasting and production across film and television in Wales. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 4 October, at the ICC Wales in Newport, hosted by presenter Owain Wyn Evans.

Madfabulous leads the nominations with six nods, followed by The Guest with five. Stori'r Iaith and Under Salt Marsh have each received three nominations. Several individuals are receiving their first BAFTA Cymru nominations, including Buddug Povey for Rownd a Rownd, Sian Reese–Williams for Power: The Downfall of Huw Edwards, and Tom Cullen for Trespasses.

Veteran industry figures also feature prominently: Eve Myles has earned her tenth nomination for The Guest, while Matthew Rhys and Gabrielle Creevy have both received their fourth. Directors Euros Lyn and Gareth Bryn have each reached nine nominations for their respective works, Wayward and Karen Pirie.
