ÖBAG begins search for new managing director
The search for a new sole managing director for the Austrian state holding company ÖBAG has entered a critical phase. The application period is set to end this Monday, as the company seeks a successor to Edith Hlawati, who is retiring.
The incoming leadership will be tasked with implementing a new strategy focused on cost-efficient energy supply, the expansion of critical infrastructure, and the strengthening of economic sovereignty. ÖBAG manages state shares in several vital Austrian companies, including OMV, Post, Telekom Austria, Casinos Austria, BIG, and the energy provider Verbund.
Economic Minister Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer is politically responsible for the appointment process, which involves advisors, a shortlist, and discussions with a nomination committee.
