Bagas speed camera returns to service after repeated vandalism

A speed camera in Bagas, Gironde, has been put back into service following a month-long outage caused by an arson attack. The device, located on a road with a 70 km/h limit, has been vandalized seven times over the past two years through methods including sawing, tagging, and fire.

Local officials noted the device was originally positioned to ensure the safety of cyclists. Former mayor Serge Issard suggested installing internal cameras to prevent further damage, while current mayor Isabelle Barbé expressed frustration over the ongoing destruction.
