Bagel brands Brooklyn Water Bagel and PopUp Bagels announce expansions

Two bagel brands are pursuing regional and institutional expansions. Brooklyn Water Bagel has opened its first campus location at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. Operating in partnership with Chartwells Higher Education, the new site serves students and faculty with breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and various quick-service options. This move marks the brand's first non-traditional location in Florida, signaling a strategy to enter high-traffic areas such as universities, airports, and medical complexes.

Simultaneously, PopUp Bagels is expanding into the Great Lakes region with its first Ohio location in Woodmere, near Cleveland. This opening initiates a broader Midwest growth plan that includes 14 additional locations scheduled across Michigan and Ohio over the next four years. The expansion is being led by partner Kal Gullapalli of Built Different Brands, following the brand's previous growth in Florida.
