Bagh district: Unofficial results emerge from AJK elections
Unofficial election results are being released following the conclusion of voting at 23 polling stations across two constituencies in the Bagh district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The balloting, which took place in the LA-15 Bagh-2 and LA-16 Bagh-3 constituencies, had previously been postponed on August 10 due to tensions and the absence of polling staff.
The AJK Election Commission is conducting the Legislative Assembly elections for 45 seats, including 12 refugee seats, in three distinct phases. In the first two phases, the PML-N emerged as the leading party with 24 seats, while the PPP secured 10 seats.
Earlier results from the third phase in the Poonch division indicated that Sajid Iqbal Abbasi of the Awami Dast-o-Baazo party won the LA-14 Bagh-I seat, and AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore of the PPP retained his seat in LA-17 Bagh IV, defeating PML-N’s Mohsin Aziz.
