Baghpat police recover bodies of two missing men buried behind temple

Police in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, have recovered the decomposed bodies of two men, Ankit Kumar and Israr Ahmed, buried behind a temple in Singoli village. The discovery follows the disappearance of the two men on July 25.

Investigators suspect the deaths were a double murder stemming from a personal dispute involving the temple priest, Naresh Kumar. Authorities allege the motive relates to Kumar’s relationship with Ankit’s sister, which Ankit reportedly opposed.

Police believe the priest, his son Saurabh Kumar, and two attendants, Krishna and Ujjwal, sedated and killed the men before burying them on the temple premises. While Krishna and Ujjwal have been taken into custody, Naresh Kumar and his son remain at large. An FIR has been registered under charges including murder and destruction of evidence.
