Bagnoregio launches 24‑hour ARES 118 emergency unit

The ARES 118 emergency post in the hill town of Bagnoregio was inaugurated on 11 July and became fully operational on 30 July 2026. The facility will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing rapid medical response for residents and the many tourists who visit the historic centre.

Mayor Luca Profili described the opening as a "historic day" for the community, highlighting the improvement to health and safety. Regional Fratelli d’Italia leader Daniele Sabatini and ARES Lazio director Narciso Mostarda visited the site, praising the collaboration between municipal workers, regional authorities and the health service. The new post complements an already‑expanded regional health network, which has increased ARES stations from 172 to 195 and cut average ambulance‑blocking time from over 3 000 hours in 2022 to about 800 hours.

The launch is part of Lazio’s broader strategy to strengthen territorial health services and ensure quicker emergency care in densely visited areas.
