Bagnères-de-Bigorre students excel in swimming and academics
Twenty-two students at Blanche Odin Middle School in Bagnères-de-Bigorre are successfully participating in an intensive swimming program that balances athletic training with academic studies. Led by physical education teacher Cindy Noyes, the group includes students from the 6th to the 3rd grade.
To begin the school year, the students participated in a training camp in Vieux-Boucau, Landes, which included lake swimming, coastal rescue training, aquathlon, and triathlon activities. The program allows students to train twice a week during school hours in addition to their sessions with the Dauphins du Stade Bagnérais swimming club.
Despite ongoing renovations at the André de Boysson nautical center, the program continues through support from the city of Bagnères-de-Bigorre and the local hospital, which has provided its pool for training sessions. The construction work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
