Baguiati robbery investigation follows discovery of man's body

Police in North Kolkata are investigating a suspected murder and robbery in the Baguiati area of Raghunathpur. The body of 31-year-old Balram Rajbanshi was discovered inside his home on Sunday afternoon by his mother.

Rajbanshi, who had been bedridden due to illness for several years, was alone in the house at the time of the incident. Upon returning from work, his mother found the house in disarray, with belongings scattered, cupboards open, and empty jewelry boxes on the bed.

Authorities noted visible injuries on the deceased's body and are investigating whether the death was a result of the robbery. Baguiati police have registered a case and are currently reviewing CCTV footage and questioning family members and neighbors to determine the circumstances of the crime.
