Bahía Blanca aims to become an AI hub for industrial production

The BahIA Summit, organized by the Unión Industrial de Bahía Blanca, the Universidad Nacional del Sur, and the local municipality, concluded with the signing of the Declaration of Bahía Blanca on Artificial Intelligence, Innovation, and Productive Development. The event aimed to establish the city as a strategic southern Argentine hub for AI applied to industry, agriculture, ports, and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Participants included university representatives, scientific organizations, port authorities, and public officials. The signed declaration emphasizes that the technological transformation requires coordinated efforts between the scientific-academic system, the productive sector, and government bodies. It calls on national, provincial, and municipal authorities to implement long-term policies and institutional cooperation mechanisms to boost productivity and create highly skilled employment.
