Bahía Blanca announces infrastructure reforms in Villa Mitre

The Municipality of Bahía Blanca has announced a major infrastructure project to reform the ‘Cinco Esquinas’ in the Villa Mitre neighborhood. The intervention, which requires an investment of approximately 600 million pesos, aims to restore traffic flow to Falucho Street and correct hydraulic issues that have caused flooding in the area.

Mayor Federico Susbielles stated that the new works are necessary to rectify deficiencies from a previous administration's remodeling, which he noted failed to follow technical criteria and worsened local drainage. The project includes modifications to the drainage system and the reopening of Falucho to vehicular traffic. Construction is expected to be completed by January 2027.

In a separate urban development initiative, the city is also transforming Intendente Poretti Street into a boulevard as part of the ‘Plan 500 Cuadras’. This project involves over 11,500 meters of paving, a central median, and new lighting to improve road safety and connectivity for the Botta, Carlos Pellegrini, and Solares del Norte neighborhoods.
