Bahía Blanca implements major road reconstruction and paving works

The Municipality of Bahía Blanca is executing an integral road reconstruction plan to address significant pavement deterioration. Mayor Federico Susbielles noted that approximately 60% of the city's pavement was expired upon his administration's start in December 2023, a condition worsened by recent windstorms and flooding. To date, the city has reconstructed 74 intersections and is actively working on 18 additional strategic points using new concrete slabs.

These infrastructure projects, which include paving, milling, and curb reconstruction, have led to several street closures and modifications to public transport routes. Notable long-term closures include the intersection of Malharro and Patagones for approximately three weeks, and Pacífico between Di Sarli and González for roughly 30 days.

Temporary changes to bus lines 513 and 507 have been implemented to accommodate works at various intersections, including Estomba, Darregueira, Liniers, and San Martín. Public Works Secretary Gustavo Trankels stated that the technical process involves demolishing deteriorated slabs and rebuilding the structure from the base to ensure long-term durability and improved trafficability.
