Bahía Blanca launches neighborhood consortia program for urban infrastructure
The Municipality of Bahía Blanca has launched the Neighborhood Consortia Promotion Program to facilitate urban infrastructure improvements. Under this initiative, neighbors can form consortia to directly contract works such as paving, curb installation, and sidewalk construction.
To manage costs, the program allows residents to finance these projects through various banking institutions, including Banco Provincia, Banco Nación, Macro, and Credicoop, with payment plans ranging from 12 to 20 installments. The Municipality will be responsible for developing technical projects and ensuring work quality, while the Chamber of Construction will coordinate the distribution of works among local companies. The program is intended to complement, rather than replace, existing municipal public works plans.
