Fishermen and authorities rescue minors adrift on paddle boards

Two separate maritime rescue incidents involving minors on paddle boards occurred recently in Mexico and Spain.

In Baja California Sur, Mexico, an 11-year-old girl was rescued by local fishermen near Playa Punta Arena in the Bay of La Paz. After falling into the water with her father, strong winds and currents pushed her paddle board more than one kilometer away from the coast. The father swam toward the shore to seek help, and fishermen eventually located the girl and brought her to safety. She was reported to be in good health following the incident.

In Algeciras, Spain, the Guardia Civil's Maritime Service rescued two minors who were swept away by currents while paddle surfing near Getares. The youths were found near a rocky area known as La Ballenera, unable to return to shore on their own. Authorities conducted a search as dusk approached and successfully brought both children back to their families in good condition.
