Bahama Breeze to close its final Georgia location

The last Bahama Breeze restaurant in Georgia is scheduled to close this weekend. The Kennesaw location on Barrett Parkway will serve its final guests on Saturday, August 29, marking the brand's departure from the state following an earlier closure in Duluth.

Darden Restaurants, the owner of Bahama Breeze, stated that the brand is no longer a strategic priority. As part of a broader plan, Darden is closing certain locations or converting them into different brand concepts. The Kennesaw site is slated to be converted into a Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, which focuses on American comfort food.

The conversion process is expected to take between 12 and 18 months. While Bahama Breeze was known for its Caribbean-inspired cuisine and tropical atmosphere, the new Cheddar’s concept will offer a more traditional American casual dining experience.
