Bahamas and India Celebrate World Blood Donor Day 2026

The Public Hospitals Authority and Grand Bahama Health Services partnered with the Blood Donors of Grand Bahama to host a blood drive on June 13, 2026 at Rand Memorial Hospital in the Bahamas. The ceremony honored laboratory technologists and donors, featured a keynote from senior medical technician Krystal Bain‑Symonette on regional blood‑donor statistics, and included remarks from Deputy Hospital Administrator Sherone Singh and community leaders.

In India, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute held its World Blood Donor Day celebration on June 12, 2026 near the Casualty Hospital Block. The event, themed “One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives,” recognized voluntary donors, included speeches by Blood Bank Medical Officer Dr. Ravindran K.R.R. and Dean Prof. Dr. K.V. Rajasekhar, and featured a student skit to raise awareness of the life‑saving impact of blood donation.
