Bahar Ulu seeks justice and aid after surgical error in Diyarbakır

Bahar Ulu, a 30-year-old woman in Diyarbakır, is seeking justice and medical assistance following a surgical error in 2014. After undergoing surgery at Dicle University Hospital for knee pain, Ulu developed an external rotation in her leg.

Despite undergoing more than 10 corrective surgeries, she remains unable to use her leg without support. Ulu has been engaged in a long-standing legal battle since 2018. While the Council of State previously upheld a decision suggesting a second surgery might resolve the issue, Ulu reports that subsequent procedures have not been successful. Her case is currently pending before the Constitutional Court on grounds of rights violations.

To regain mobility, Ulu requires a microprocessor-controlled device costing 71,000 euros. Although she has launched an authorized fundraising campaign, her family's financial situation is limited, and she recently reported being targeted by scammers promising aid.
