Bahia allocates land for new Federal Police headquarters and Porto Sul port

The Brazilian Union's Secretariat of Heritage authorized the transfer of an 18,712.83‑square‑metre parcel in Vitória da Conquista, Bahia, to the Federal Police Regional Superintendency for a future headquarters on Avenida Luís Eduardo Magalhães. The site will replace the agency’s current rented office of 5,400 sqm, though construction details, budget and timelines have not yet been disclosed.

Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues signed a decree declaring 384.34 hectares of private land in Ilhéus a public utility for the Porto Sul complex, part of the Fiol railway extension. The decree enables expropriation procedures and compensation to owners, with the Portuguese firm Mota‑Engil slated to lead the port’s development after acquiring Bahia Mineração.
