Bahia launches $2.8 M expansion of Santo Estevão bus terminal
The Bahia state government, through the Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra), published a public bidding on 13 June 2026 to expand and refurbish the Santo Estevão bus terminal. The project, valued at R$ 2.8 million, will enlarge the passenger area from 1,179 m² to 1,221 m² and add a security guardhouse. Proposals from interested firms are to be opened on 7 July 2026.
At the same time, Seinfra opened a separate tender to pave 12.1 km of the BA‑233 highway between Pé de Serra and the settlement of Santo Agostinho. The road work, budgeted at R$ 15.5 million, aims to improve access to health, education and commerce services for local residents. Company bids for this contract will be received on 8 July 2026.
