Bahia beach destinations receive national tourism recognition

Taipu de Fora, located in the Maraú Peninsula in southern Bahia, has been ranked third in the ‘O Melhor do Turismo Brasileiro’ 2026 awards within the Northeast Beach category. The destination is noted for its natural pools formed by reefs during low tide and its status as a marine preservation hub. Activities in the area include guided diving, quad biking, and boat tours through Camamu Bay.

Other recognitions for the state of Bahia include first place in the Resort Hotel category for Tivoli Ecoresort Praia do Forte and third place in Ecotourism for Chapada Diamantina.

Additional popular beach destinations in Brazil include Praia do Rosa in Santa Catarina, Maresias in São Paulo, Cumbuco in Ceará, Baía Formosa in Rio Grande do Norte, and Itacaré in Bahia.
