Bahia Business Leaders Examine Global Geopolitics at Clube do Vinho
On July 30, business executives and fuel‑sector representatives gathered in Praia do Forte, Bahia, for the second edition of the Clube do Vinho organized by Revista Let’s Go Bahia. The forum, themed “The World Changed,” focused on how international conflicts, trade shifts and broader geopolitical trends affect the Bahian economy and corporate strategy.
CNN Brazil analyst Felippe Ramos warned that Bahia’s reliance on imported strategic inputs such as oil and fertilizers makes it vulnerable to geopolitical tensions, urging companies to map additional costs and seek new market opportunities. Petrobahia S.A. president Iara Schimmelpfeng highlighted the direct impact of global oil price swings on the state’s private refinery, stressing the need for constant monitoring and agile governance. SINDICOM‑BA superintendent Clécio Santana explained how Middle‑East conflicts drive fuel price volatility in Brazil through parity mechanisms, and noted Brazil’s push to increase bio‑fuel share in the energy mix as a hedge against external shocks.
