Bahia considers legal action against Atlético-MG over unpaid transfer fee

Esporte Clube Bahia is considering legal action through the Brazilian Football Confederation’s (CBF) National Chamber for Dispute Resolution (CNRD) against Atlético-MG. The dispute concerns an unpaid installment of 100,000 euros (approximately R$ 596,700) related to the permanent transfer of defender Vitor Hugo.

The payment was due in May as part of a deal reached in early 2026 to finalize the defender's move to Belo Horizonte. Vitor Hugo had previously played for Bahia before joining Atlético-MG on loan during the 2025 season. Following his performance, the clubs negotiated a permanent transfer with a total potential value of up to 1 million euros, including performance-based bonuses.

The CNRD is the designated body within the CBF to resolve conflicts between clubs, athletes, and agents regarding contract fulfillment and financial obligations.
