Bahia Convention Center sold for R$ 138 million
The former Bahia Convention Center (CCB) in the Jardim Armação neighborhood of Salvador has been sold for R$ 138.487 million. The sale was confirmed in the Bahia State Official Gazette by the Secretary of Administration, Rodrigo Pimentel de Souza Lima.
The winning bidder is the Pilar Incorporação e Construção Imobiliária Ltda consortium, composed of Grupo Enseada and Grupo André Guimarães. The proceeds from the auction will be allocated to the Social Security Financial Fund for Public Servants of the State of Bahia (Funprev).
The consortium is also responsible for dismantling the remaining structure of the old center, a process estimated by the government to cost approximately R$ 54 million. The auction follows a failed attempt in March to sell the property for R$ 141.3 million. The site, which covers approximately 116,000 square meters, has been largely abandoned and partially collapsed since 2016 due to lack of maintenance and safety issues.
