Bahia Court Approves Transalvador Accounts, Orders Tanque Novo Transparency Portal Update
The Tribunal de Contas dos Municípios da Bahia (TCM-BA) approved the 2025 financial statements of Transalvador, the municipal traffic authority of Salvador, without reservations during its 17th ordinary session. The court’s rapporteur highlighted compliance with internal controls and fiscal responsibility, and Transalvador superintendent Diego Brito said the approval underscores transparent public‑resource management.
In a separate proceeding, TCM-BA issued a preliminary injunction requiring the municipality of Tanque Novo to immediately update its online Transparency Portal. The decision followed a complaint by councilwoman Juscélia Silva Pereira that the portal lacked mandatory information on health, education and social assistance. The court found the sidebar pages empty, noted the mayor’s failure to respond, and warned of fines and possible referral to the state Public Prosecutor’s Office if the municipality does not comply.
