Bahia Governor uses aircraft linked to Master case in campaign
Bahia Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues is facing scrutiny after reports indicated he used a helicopter during his election campaign that was previously linked to the Master case. The aircraft, identified by the prefix PT-YNB, was reportedly offered by businessman Augusto Ferreira Lima—a former partner of Banco Master owner Daniel Vorcaro—to Senator Jaques Wagner for a trip to Ilha da Paixão.
In response, Governor Rodrigues stated that Augusto Lima had no involvement in the aircraft's contracting and that there is no evidence the businessman provided or paid for the helicopter for the campaign. Official records from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) show the helicopter belongs to RG8 Taxi Aéreo LTDA, and no corporate link between that company and Augusto Lima has been established. Rodrigues has declared a payment of R$ 207,000 to a company for transport expenses, though the specific vehicle is not identified in the document.
The investigation into Daniel Vorcaro has expanded beyond the use of private jets by various political figures and Supreme Court justices. Recent developments focus on digital evidence recovered from Vorcaro's devices, which include thousands of items ranging from personal images to explicit content, shifting the focus of the scandal toward the nature of the social gatherings hosted by the banker.
