Rio Branco woman stabbed by husband during domestic dispute
In Rio Branco, a 32-year-old woman, Ana Carolina Santos de Freitas, was attacked by her husband, Francisco José, 49, during a domestic dispute. The assailant, who arrived at the residence under the influence of alcohol, physically assaulted the victim with punches to the face before stabbing her in the abdomen with a serrated knife.
Despite her injuries, the victim managed to leave the home and seek help at a nearby butcher shop. Emergency medical services (SAMU) provided initial treatment and transported her to the Rio Branco Emergency Room, where she was reported to be in stable condition.
Local military police conducted searches in the Polo Benfica region to locate the suspect, but he remains at large. The Civil Police are investigating the incident, which is expected to be referred to the Specialized Police Station for Women's Services (DEAM).
