Bahia Military Police social project celebrates youth Jiu-Jitsu victory
Lara Souza, a young athlete participating in the ‘A Esperança Não Luta Só’ social project, won the youth category at the 18th Bonfim Open de Jiu-Jitsu. Despite being a white belt, Souza defeated competitors with higher rankings (gray belts) without losing a single point.
The social project is run by the 29th Military Police Battalion in Jacobina, Bahia. It aims to use sports as a tool for social transformation, discipline, and providing healthy alternatives to crime and drug use for children and adolescents. Classes are taught by SD PM Lucas, a black belt from the Thiago Andrade Training Center (CTTA).
