Bahia officials join international delegation to attract mining investments
The Bahia State Secretariat for Economic Development (SDE) and the Baiana Mineral Research Company (CBPM) have joined a Brazilian delegation participating in Brazil Mining Day 2026 in Sydney, Australia. The event brings together government leaders, executives, and investors to discuss investment opportunities, critical minerals, technological innovation, and bilateral cooperation.
The initiative is part of the Brazil Week Australia 2026 celebrations and precedes the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC 2026). A key focus of the discussions is the shared presence of critical minerals; of the 31 minerals identified as critical by both governments, 27 are found in both Brazil and Australia. These include lithium, niobium, and rare earth elements, which are essential for battery production, aerospace alloys, and electric motors.
