Bahia police arrest suspects in attacks against military officers

The Bahia Civil Police, in coordination with the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP-BA), launched Operation Thermopylae to arrest suspects involved in attempted murders and kidnappings of military police officers. The crimes took place in the Valéria neighborhood of Salvador throughout the year.

Three suspects were arrested during the operation: two in Salvador and one in the state of São Paulo. The individual captured in São Paulo is linked to a May attack where seven armed men targeted three officers. Another suspect was apprehended for an attempted kidnapping of a police officer in April.

During searches of two hideouts located in Salvador and the Recôncavo Baiano region, authorities seized a drone, pistol magazines, camouflage clothing, and various drug storage packaging.
