Bahia Police investigate AI-generated extortion of 12-year-old girl

The Civil Police in Vitória da Conquista, Bahia, are investigating four adolescents, aged 14 to 16, for the extortion of a 12-year-old girl. The investigation revealed that the suspects used intimate images created with artificial intelligence to threaten the victim.

According to authorities, the extortion began on October 14, when a 15-year-old male claimed to possess compromising material and demanded money to prevent its release on social media. Fearing the consequences, the girl secretly took R$ 8,300 from her father's savings and delivered it to the suspect. Despite the payment, the suspect demanded an additional R$ 10,000.

Police recovered R$ 6,300 of the extorted funds and seized an electric bicycle valued at R$ 1,300 that had been purchased with the stolen money. The case has been referred to the Court of Childhood and Youth for legal proceedings.
