Bahia Public Ministry advises Correntina on fiscal limits for event spending

The Public Ministry of Bahia (MP-BA) has issued an administrative recommendation to the Correntina City Hall, advising the administration to ensure fiscal and financial equilibrium before allocating public funds to festivals and events.

According to the recommendation issued by the Correntina Prosecutor's Office, the municipality must demonstrate its ability to meet fiscal targets established in the Budget Guidelines Law (LDO). Key requirements include verifying that there has been no significant drop in revenue or an increase in ongoing expenses that could jeopardize public accounts. The administration must also prove regularity in paying current expenses, such as personnel costs, before proceeding with spending on festive events.
