Bahia to receive R$ 180 million for airport expansions
The Brazilian state of Bahia will receive over R$ 180 million in investments to expand and requalify the airports in Paulo Afonso and Lençóis. The Ministry of Ports and Airports announced that the Paulo Afonso airport will receive R$ 106.3 million to upgrade its infrastructure, aiming to allow the terminal to accommodate larger aircraft and facilitate commercial flights to Salvador and São Paulo.
The airport in Lençóis, located in the Chapada Diamantina region, will receive R$ 80.3 million. This investment is intended to increase passenger capacity and strengthen tourism connections. Both airports will be managed by GRU Airport, the company responsible for the Guarulhos international airport in São Paulo.
