Bahnsparer app launched to compare German train prices

A new iOS application called Bahnsparer has been developed to assist frequent travelers in finding more affordable and reliable train connections. Created by IT freelancer Max Ritter, the app addresses difficulties in comparing prices, travel times, and reliability within official rail applications.

Bahnsparer allows users to view train prices up to four weeks in advance and compares various factors, including travel duration, expected occupancy, transfer risks, and historical punctuality. It identifies the cheapest, fastest, and most reliable connections, while also offering a price alarm feature. The app integrates data from both Deutsche Bahn and FlixTrain, presenting them in a sorted list, though bookings are completed directly through the respective providers.

Additional features include real-time updates for track changes and delays. For delays exceeding 60 minutes, the app provides an estimate for potential passenger compensation and links to official Deutsche Bahn passenger rights pages. The app is an independent tool and is not officially licensed by Deutsche Bahn.
