Bahrain and Kuwait Launch First Secret Airstrikes Inside Iran
The Wall Street Journal reported that Bahrain and Kuwait secretly deployed fighter jets earlier this month to strike Iranian drone and missile storage facilities, marking the first direct airstrikes by either Gulf state against Iran. The operation was carried out without public acknowledgment, and officials from both governments declined to comment.
The United Arab Emirates is said to have supplied target intelligence and provided defensive air cover for the raids. The attacks come after weeks of Iranian retaliatory strikes on Gulf bases, raising concerns of a broader escalation in the region.
Iran responded by launching missiles toward Bahrain and activating air‑raid sirens, while other Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, are reassessing their positions amid the heightened tensions.
