Bahrain develops 179 government services to accelerate administrative procedures
The Kingdom of Bahrain has announced significant advancements in its government services, completing the development of 179 services across 22 government entities between January 15 and October 15, 2026. The initiative aims to improve service quality, simplify procedures, and accelerate transaction times for citizens, residents, and the business sector.
Key improvements include the proactive electronic updating of minor data for settlements at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, reducing processing time from six working days to three. At the Supreme Council for Environment, the renewal of licenses for importing and using chemical substances has been automated, moving from a five-day waiting period to instant issuance. Additionally, the transfer of customs clearance companies has been streamlined to activate automatically upon approval, replacing a process that previously took up to 20 working days.
In the real estate sector, the Survey and Land Registration Bureau has digitized requests for cadastral point coordinates, reducing the average completion time from four days to two. The Labour Market Regulatory Authority has also enabled the electronic viewing of domestic worker permit data via the ‘Bahrain.bh’ application. The development plan targeted a minimum 25% reduction in service level agreement durations, a 50% reduction in required documents, and a 25% reduction in necessary approvals.
