Baia Mare launches mosquito and tick control campaign

The Baia Mare Public Urban Ambient Service is conducting an extensive terrestrial disinsectization campaign to combat mosquitoes and ticks. The operation is scheduled to run from September 28 to October 12, with the possibility of extension depending on the situation.

The campaign utilizes two specific products: Solfac Trio EC 140 NF, applied to tree and herbaceous vegetation to target adult mosquitoes and ticks, and Vectobac WG, a biological larvicide used in stagnant water to combat mosquito larvae.

To minimize disruption, operations will take place at night between 22:00 and 06:00. Authorities state that the solutions used are not toxic to humans or animals at the applied concentrations, provided that treated areas are avoided during application. Residents are advised to avoid traversing or staying in treated areas while the work is in progress.
