IAA Transportation 2026 showcases future of commercial vehicles

The IAA Transportation 2026 trade fair in Hannover has concluded, drawing over 140,000 visitors and showcasing the industry's shift toward electrification, digitalization, and sustainable logistics. The event featured more than 150 world premieres from 1,589 exhibitors, with significant participation from China, Turkey, and Italy.

Key highlights included Tesla's presentation of the Semi for the European market, featuring a 550 km range and plans for a Megacharger network. Mercedes-Benz showcased its next-generation Sprinter design and expanded its digital 'Mercedes-Benz PRO' ecosystem. MAN Truck & Bus introduced the eTGX, which offers a range of up to 720 km.

Other notable participants included BAIC FOTON, which detailed its European expansion strategy focusing on new energy vehicles, and OKT Trailer, which presented a specialized fuel tanker for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations. The fair emphasized that manufacturers are moving beyond vehicle sales to provide comprehensive service, connectivity, and infrastructure solutions to support the transition to zero-emission transport.
