BAIC launches and tests new electric SUVs in Indonesia, Argentina and Brazil
Chinese automaker BAIC, through its premium Arcfox sub‑brand, introduced the BAIC T1 SUV in Indonesia. The model, formerly known as the Arcfox T1, features a 4,337 mm length, 1,860 mm width, 1,572 mm height, a 2,770 mm wheelbase—the longest in its class—ground clearance of 181 mm, 18‑inch wheels, a large sky roof and extensive interior storage.
In Argentina, the ARCFOX T1 was showcased at a BAIC dealership, with prices ranging from US$29,500 to US$39,800. Reviewers highlighted its clean LED lighting strip, sleek surfaces and the same dimensions as the Indonesian version.
In Brazil, BAIC tested the Arcfox Alpha T5 SUV. The test vehicle includes an extended‑range electric‑vehicle (EREV) system with a 1.5 L generator engine, delivering 271 hp and 0‑100 km/h in 6.5 seconds. It offers a pure‑electric range of 215 km (CLTC) and a combined range of up to 1,215 km. The T5 measures 4.76 m long, 1.93 m wide, 1.65 m high with a 2.84 m wheelbase, and is equipped with a 15.6‑inch multimedia screen, a 22.8‑inch head‑up display, and Level‑2 driver assistance. In China it is priced between 113,800 and 158,800 yuan.
