BAIC launches X-Line hybrid SUV models in Egypt and Argentina

Chinese automotive manufacturer BAIC has expanded its international presence with the launch of its new X-Line series, featuring extended-range hybrid technology.

In Egypt, BAIC officially introduced the X-Line, including the X55e and X7e models, utilizing e-DRIVE technology. This system aims to provide an electric driving experience without the need for external charging, offering a range of over 1,000 kilometers and power exceeding 200 horsepower. Taher Shahin, CEO of EIM Group, noted that BAIC and Alkan Auto are planning future local assembly projects in Egypt using the CKD (completely knocked down) system to transition from importing to local manufacturing.

In Argentina, BAIC presented the X55 Hybrid SUV in Neuquén. The vehicle utilizes a range-extended system that combines an electric motor with a combustion engine, allowing for 100% electric movement without requiring a plug. The model offers an autonomy of up to 915 kilometers. Leo Bech, General Manager of BAIC in Argentina, highlighted the brand's growth and its strategy to provide practical electrified mobility for both urban and long-distance driving.
