Baidu and Microsoft advance AI assistant integration

Baidu has rebranded its GenFlow agent as KuKu AI, launching dedicated applications for PC, web, and enterprise use. The company reports that the assistant has reached 25 million monthly active office users in China, positioning it as a leader in the domestic AI office market. The tool can generate various content types, including posters, videos, podcasts, mind maps, and code, from single user instructions.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is consolidating its Copilot and Copilot 365 applications into a single unified app for both personal and business users. The rollout begins in mid-August 2026 on mobile and web, with Windows and macOS versions expected in mid-September. While the new interface allows easier switching between accounts while maintaining data separation, Microsoft is discontinuing three specific features: podcast audio creation, group chat, and Deep Research for end users. Additionally, free users will face stricter capacity limits to manage server load.
