Baidu reports Q2 revenue decline amid rapid AI cloud growth

Baidu reported its second-quarter 2026 financial results, showing a 4% year-over-year decline in total revenue to RMB 31.3 billion. The company experienced its fifth consecutive quarterly revenue drop, driven largely by a 19% decline in its core online marketing and advertising business.

Despite the overall revenue contraction, Baidu’s strategic pivot toward artificial intelligence showed significant momentum. AI-powered business revenue reached RMB 12.5 billion, accounting for half of the company’s general business revenue. Notably, the GPU cloud segment saw an explosive 283% year-over-year growth, and AI cloud infrastructure revenue rose by 50%.

CEO Robin Li stated that the growth in AI reinforces the company’s transition from an internet-centric model to an AI-first company. Other operational highlights include steady progress in the Apollo Go autonomous driving service and the company’s ongoing application for a dual-primary listing in Hong Kong.
